A Fort Dodge man has pled guilty and sentenced to probation for extortion by sending explicit photos of victim to another individual without consent. According to Sac County District Court records, 45-year-old Shane Allen Foote entered a guilty plea on Monday to one count extortion, expose to ridicule/hatred/contempt, a class D felony and first-degree harassment-sexting, an aggravated misdemeanor, for threatening and exposing a photo of the female victim to another individual. Foote sent several text messages to the victim saying to unblock his number and to message him back or he would send her photos to an individual. He was sentenced to five years in prison, which was suspended, and instead placed on two years probation for count one, and ordered to serve 15 days in jail with credit given for time already served, along with a year of probation for count two. Mittimus will be issued on March 15, 2026, unless sentence is completed prior to that date.
