Carroll County Public Health officials are encouraging everyone to take precautions to keep everyone safe and healthy from the flu this season. Public Health Director Maggie Pauley- MPH says every flu season, cases of influenza and other related illness influx during the winter months from the end of September to March.
While not having specific data to Carroll County and Iowa, Pauley says the Center for Disease Control (CDC) is monitoring cases of influenza, RSV and Covid nationwide.
Pauley says there are ways to be able to protect yourself and others.
If you would happen to catch influenza, or any other related virus, Pauley says to monitor symptoms, get plenty of rest and fluids and to reach out to your primary care provider if symptoms persist or with any concerns.
