Commuters on U.S Highway 30 traveling east through Glidden will need to start slowing down sooner as the speed limits have been adjusted. The eastbound 45 miles per hour (MPH) sign has been relocated to near the driveway of the mini storage units along the south of Hwy 30, which will create a longer 45 MPH zone as drivers transition into the city limits. The reasoning behind the change is for safety, to have traffic slow down prior to approaching the pedestrian trail crossing on the highway. This speed zone change is only on the west side of town along Hwy 30. City officials are urging drivers to observe and obey the posted signs to continue to keep everyone safe and thanks everyone for their cooperation and understanding.
