Douglas Wurr, age 64, of Auburn, IA, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025, at his home in Auburn. Douglas Lee was born on June 21, 1961, to parents Richard and Annette (Loeffler) Wurr. He grew up on the family farm in Auburn and graduated from Lake City High School.
Doug worked construction for Midwest Fence and Gate. Some of his passions were horses, farming, and old cars. Doug was a hard worker and loved being active. You could always find him outside doing something, and he would be out there until the sun went down. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Lacey Wurr of Lake City, IA, Lara Wurr of Stout, IA, and Logan Wurr of Auburn, IA; grandchildren: Brycen Williams, Jaxtyn Haberl, Holtyn Haberl, and Esley Haberl; siblings: Connie (Bill) Hughes of Battle Creek, NE, and Colleen Overton of Benbrook, TX; nephews: Chuck Hughes, Nick Hughes, and Samuel Overton.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Annette Wurr; grandparents, Anthony and Dorothy Loeffler, and Carl and Clara Wurr.
A Celebration of Life Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2026, at the Lampe and Powers Funeral Home in Lake City, Iowa.
