Adam Steen, one of several candidates campaigning for the Republican Party’s gubernatorial nomination for the 2026 election, is hosting several stops in the listening area next week. Steen, who previously served as director of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services under Gov. Kim Reynolds, will be in Audubon County on Tuesday, Dec. 30, at 10 a.m. at the Bakery on Broadway. Later that same day, Steen will travel to Carroll to host potential supporters at the Santa Maria Vineyard and Winery at 5:30 p.m. These stops are part of Steen’s 99 Strong Tour, where he plans to visit all of Iowa’s counties prior to the primary election. The public is invited to attend, and there is no need to RSVP for the programs in advance. The GOP has a somewhat crowded field heading toward the June 2 party primaries. In addition to Steen, four other candidates have launched campaigns, including State Representative Eddie Andrews, U.S. Representative Randy Feenstra, former State Representative Brad Sherman, and Zach Lahn, a farmer and businessman. The field for Iowa Democrats is much smaller, featuring Iowa State Auditor Rob Sand and Julie Stauch, who served as presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg’s state political director in 2020.
