Denison Man Facing Five Felony Drug Offences After Alledgedly Intending To Deliver Between 100 And 500 Grams Of Cocaine

A Denison man is facing several felony drug related offenses after allegedly possessing with intent to deliver several hundred grams of cocaine and marijuana. According to Crawford County District Court records, law enforcement says 22-year-old Rene Bernal-Salas possessed over 100 grams, but no more than 500 grams of cocaine on three occasions between August 14, 2024 and Sept. 12, 2024 with intent to deliver for financial gain. He was also alleged to have over seven grams of marijuana on one occasion. Bernal-Salas has pled not guilty and will face a jury trial on March 3, 2026 at the Crawford County Courthouse. He is facing four counts of controlled substance violations, one class B felony and three class C felonies, as well as failure to affix drug stamp, a class D felony. If convicted of all charges, Bernal-Salas can face a maximum sentence of up to 60 years in prison and over $51,000 in fines across all charges.
