Stewart Memorial Hospital and Clinics has named registered dietitian Casey Wetter as its December Path to Excellence honoree, recognizing her dedication to compassionate, patient-centered care. Wetter’s connection to Stewart Memorial dates back to her birth at the hospital. After growing up receiving care there, she returned to Lake City in 2011 and joined the hospital staff as a part-time dietitian in 2012. After several years as a clinical dietitian, Wetter transitioned into a leadership role within Nutrition Services, working closely with her team to provide high-quality meals to patients and customers. Currently, she focuses on nutrition counseling in inpatient and outpatient settings, diabetes education, cardiac rehabilitation, and community-based nutrition consulting. Wetter’s compassionate care is visible in both patient interactions and teamwork among staff. She says, “The organization recognizes how important it is to build trust through personal relationships, and it encourages us to be involved in meaningful ways. Compassion is something you can see and feel in the hallways. It is how we treat each other as teammates and how we care for our patients.” She credits colleagues and administration for supporting her professional growth, including encouraging her decision to pursue a nursing degree. Stewart Memorial’s leadership congratulates Wetter on her relentless pursuit of “Stewart”-ship, citing her positive impact on patients, coworkers, and the community.
