Powerball Grows To $1.1 Billion For Tonight’s Drawing

The Powerball jackpot has surged to an estimated $1.1 billion annuity, or $503.4 million in cash, for tonight’s (Monday) drawing after no one claimed the top prize Saturday. The jackpot is now the sixth-largest in the game’s history. Iowa Lottery players won 15,382 prizes totaling $118,367 in Saturday’s drawing, including one ticket that came within a single number of the jackpot. The ticket, purchased at a Kwik Star in Webster City, matched four of the first five numbers and the Powerball to win $50,000. Saturday’s winning numbers were 1-28-31-57-58 and Powerball 16, with a Power Play multiplier of 2. Iowans bought nearly $1.43 million in Powerball tickets for Saturday’s drawing, though the average purchase remained about $6, or three plays per ticket. Iowa Lottery CEO Matt Strawn urges players to enjoy the excitement while playing responsibly.
