An Auburn man was arrested Tuesday been arrested in connection to a truck that had been reported stolen out of Carroll last week. According to Bremer County District Court records, 18-year-old Tyson Leroy James Jackson was booked for second-degree theft, a class D felony, in connection to the Dec. 5 incident in the 200 block of W. 3rd Street. An officer with the Waverly Police Department received a report on Tuesday of a stolen vehicle parked in the Waverly-Shell Rock High School parking lot. Law enforcement confirmed the stolen truck’s location and status and observed until Jackson approached the vehicle and used a key fob to unlock it. Upon seeing the officer, Jackson attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended a short time later. He was booked into the Bremer County jail, where he remains in custody as of Thursday morning. A class D felony in Iowa carries a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison and $7,500 in fines. Authorities may file additional charges.
