Iowa Fuel Report: Dec. 10, 2025

Gas prices in Iowa held their trend of continued declines, as did diesel prices, according to this week’s fuel report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, Dec. 10, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $2.53, down 12 cents from the previous week and 17 cents below prices from a year ago. The national average on Wednesday was down six cents to $2.94 per gallon. Iowa retail diesel fell 11 cents to an average of $3.50 per gallon, compared to $3.26 per gallon this time last year. Iowa’s average for diesel is 18 cents below the $3.68 national average. At the Des Moines Terminal, E10 was $1.60, Unleaded 87 was $1.83, ULSD #2 was $2.01, ULSD #1 was $2.76, and E70 was $1.79. As for heating fuels, propane prices were up one cent to $1.55 per gallon, home heating oil dropped 10 cents to $3.07 per gallon, and natural gas prices at the Henry Rug reporting stie were down 39 cents to $4.61 per MMBtu.
