Carroll County drivers generally handled the wintry weather this past weekend, according to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office. From Saturday, Dec. 6, through Sunday, Dec. 7, deputies responded to just 10 motorist assists, all of them considered minor fender benders or vehicles leaving the roadway due to slick conditions. The prior weekend, which saw close to 10 inches of snow falling in the listening area, had similarly low call volume, especially considering it was the first major snowfall of the season. Authorities remind drivers to slow down whenever possible during the winter months and to be prepared for unexpectedly slick road conditions, even on roads that appear to have been treated.
