Gov. Reynolds Orders Flags To Half-Staff Sunday In Honor Of National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

Governor Kim Reynolds orders the flags to be flown at half staff on Sunday, Dec. 7 in honor of Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. The attack on the U.S Naval base in Hawaii happened 85 years ago, killing 2,403 service members and civilians, leading the United States to enter World War II. Reynolds says “On Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, we honor the thousands of servicemembers and civilians who were killed and wounded in this horrific attack on our country. This day is a solemn reminder that our freedom isn’t free, and we are grateful for every American who serves in uniform.”  Flags will be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on the State Capitol Building, the flag displays in the Capitol Complex and on all public buildings, grounds, and facilities throughout the state. Individuals, businesses, schools, municipalities, counties and other government subdivisions are encouraged to fly the flag at half-staff for the same length of time as a sign of respect.
