Iowa Fuel Report: Dec. 3, 2025

Fuel prices in the state were on the decline in this week’s report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in the state was $2.65, down 10 cents from last week and three cents below prices from a year ago. The national average for gasoline on Wednesday was down six cents on the week to $3.00 per gallon. As for retail diesel, Iowa prices dipped six cents to $3.61 per gallon, compared to $3.28 per gallon last year. Local prices are 12 cents below the national average of $3.73. Looking at prices at the Des Moines Terminal, E10 stood at $1.63, Unleaded 87 was $1.89, ULSD#2 was $2.14, ULSD#1 was $2.61, and E70 was $1.87. Turning to heating fuels, the average price for propane was down one cent to $1.54 per gallon, while home heating oil prices were down eight cents on the week to $3.17 per gallon. Natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site jumped 55 cents to $5.00 per MMBtu.
