Governor Kim Reynolds has ordered the flags to be flown at half-staff today (Thursday) in honor and remembrance of the National Guard solider killed in Washington D.C. This order is in conjunction with the proclamation by President Donald Trump to honor Specialist Sarah Beckstrom of the West Virginia Army National Guard who was killed while serving in Washington D.C. Flags will be at half-staff on the State Capitol Building, flag displays in the Capitol Complex and on all public buildings, grounds, and facilities throughout the state. Individuals, businesses, schools, municipalities, counties, and other government subdivisions are encouraged to fly the flag at half-staff for the same length of time as a sign of respect.
