Three nursing homes in the listening area have received a 5-STAR Quality Measures rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Regency Park Nursing and Rehab in Carroll, The Friendship Home in Audubon and Twilight Acres in Wall Lake all received the top rating, measuring on performances of care on short- and long-stay residents. Scores are measured on a one to five scale, assessing patient care of those recovering from surgery, if able to be discharged to return home, percentage of residents who are up to date on vaccinations, hospital visits reported, accidents, etc. CMS uses the rating system to provide information to individuals who are in need of services to make a choice to best fit their needs and facilities who excel in quality of care to residents.
