Carroll is on the Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach’s 2026 Crop Advantage Series schedule in January, which will bring the latest information on crop production practices to local producers. Carroll County’s crop advantage series is scheduled for Jan. 29 at the Swan Lake Conservation Education Center. The program is geared toward farmers, crop advisors, and other ag industry specialists interested in current and ongoing research on how to maximize yields while maintaining the long-term viability of their land. Scheduled speakers include extension specialists, field agronomists, and invited experts, who will present on issues facing Iowa growers, including a crop market outlook, insect pressures in 2025, and weather-related impacts on weed management. ISU Extension Field Agronomist Mike Witt says, “We’re excited to provide quality, in-person education farmers and ag retailers have come to expect. Each meeting’s agenda is designed to reflect the specific needs and conditions of its respective region.” Certified Crop Adviser continuing education credits will also be offered during the Crop Advantage Series, alongside private pesticide applicator trainings for an additional fee. Early registration is $75, increasing to $100 within seven days of the event or on-site. Details on how to reserve your seat are included with this story on our website. Eleven other locations are on the 2026 ISU Extension Crop Advantage Series, including Storm Lake and Atlantic.
