U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley has announced staff traveling office hours in 17 Iowa counties, including several in the listening area next week. Grassley says, “You can’t have representative government without dialogue between elected officials and the people we represent. That’s why I’ve held meetings in all of Iowa’s 99 counties for 45 years. Because I’m not able to meet personally with each of Iowa’s over three million people, my staff holds traveling office hours to ensure Iowans’ voices are heard and their issues are addressed. I encourage any Iowan needing assistance with a federal agency to stop by and meet with my staff or contact one of my offices.” Regional Director Jonathan Bladt will be in Crawford County on Monday, Nov. 24, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Denison Library. Bladt then heads to Carroll County at the Carroll Public Library from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. That same day, Regional Director Jacob Bossman will be at the Sac City Public Library in Sac County from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. These staff members are available to assist Iowans with any issues they may have with federal agencies or programs, such as Social Security, Veterans Affairs, and others. The meetings are also an opportunity for the public to share their views on specific legislative issues, which are then passed on to Grassley for consideration. Sen. Grassley will not be present during the traveling staff office hours. The full list of upcoming programs is included with this story on our website.
