The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education will be holding two separate meetings on Monday, with the final meeting of the retiring board before holding an organizational meeting to welcome the two new board members. The first meeting will begin at it’s regular scheduled time of 6:30 p.m. at Adams Elementary School. Superintendent Dr. Casey Berlau says the board will discuss more student teaching agreements with Grand Canyon University and Northwestern College.

Following the first meeting, Berlau says the two new board members, Jeff Cullen and Hunter Harmening will be welcomed in and get established being their initial meeting on the board of education.

After a presentation on the district’s English Language Learner program and administrative reports, Berlau says the board will consider the first reading for adjusting the purchasing and bidding thresholds for the district.

The board will also approve of early graduates, fuel bids, and a teacher associate tuition plan that Berlau says the district is considering offering.

Other discussion items will include open meeting law training, review the plan for weather days during the winter season and end with a closed session per Iowa Code 21.5.1.i for a routine superintendent evaluation. Again, the public is welcome to attend the CCSD Board of Education meetings this upcoming Monday starting at 6:30 p.m. at Adams Elementary School.
