The Animal Rescue of Carroll has been awarded a $5,000 grant through Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation and Tractor Supply Company. MuttNation, a non-profit organization, began in 2009, that promotes animal shelters across the nation by encouraging adoption and the spaying and neutering of pets. Donations from individuals, the purchasing of products from the nonprofit’s line and a donation-at-checkout initiative through Tractor Supply, support the funding that is granted to shelters for various of projects. The Animal Rescue of Carroll received the funding back in August and plans to use the $5,000 grant to add sidewalks in the back of the shelter house to get to the dog run area.  The shelter is run by a board and a group of volunteers and relies on donations to keep operations going. One way individuals can help out is by joining volunteers this upcoming Monday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church with the November and final drive-thru meal of the season. For a free will donation, a to-go meal of sliced ham, donated by Smithfield, diced potatoes, green beans, a dinner roll, Jimmy John’s brownie, and a Culver’s custard cup will be offered, with all proceeds benefiting the day-to-day operations of the Animal Rescue of Carroll. Again, join the shelter for the final drive-thru meal fundraiser of the season this Monday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. or until food runs out, whichever comes first.
