Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds orders flags to remain at half-staff tomorrow (Thursday) in honor and remembrance of former Iowa Senator and Iowa Board of Regents member Larry McKibben who passed away on Sunday. McKibben was a Marshalltown native, who served in the Iowa Senate from 1997 to 2010. He was appointed to the Iowa Board of Regents in 2013, serving until 2019. Reynolds says “Larry McKibben was a kind and good man and was loved by all who knew him. I had the privilege of working briefly alongside Larry in the Iowa State Senate and later got to know him well while he served on the Board of Regents. Kevin and I offer our condolences and prayers to his family during this time. He will be deeply missed.” Flags were currently ordered to half-staff in honor of former Vice President Dick Cheney, who passed away Nov. 3, until the day of his interment on Nov. 20.
