The Carroll American Legion and several schools around the listening area will be honoring veterans and their service tomorrow (Tuesday) for Veteran’s Day. The Carroll American Legion’s annual Veterans Breakfast will be from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the legion building, located at 1124 Heires Ave. All veterans will receive a free meal consisting of pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs, breakfast rolls, along with coffee, juice or milk, thanks to a sponsorship from Hy-Vee. Several schools in the listening area will also be welcoming veterans and their families to the buildings for various programs and ceremonies. The Coon Rapids-Bayard Community School District is inviting the public to the high school gym at 9 a.m. for their annual Veteran’s program, encouraging all attendees to wear red, white, and blue. Audubon CSD will have a ceremony held in the high school auditorium also at 9 a.m. IKM-Manning CSD welcomes veterans and families to the gym at 1 p.m., with cookies and coffee for veterans to follow after the program. South Central Calhoun (SSC) will hold a Veteran’s Day Celebration, at the middle school building starting at 1:30 p.m., East Sac County is inviting veterans for treats at the high school in Lake View at 1:30 p.m. with a program to follow at 2 p.m. The Ar-We-Va CSD is encouraging all to join at the high school gym at 2 p.m. for their Veteran’s Day program. Again, all veterans and their families are welcome to join the Carroll American Legion for the annual Veteran’s breakfast at the legion hall, and the many school programs being held tomorrow (Tuesday) to honor those men and women who stepped up to the call to serve our nation.
