The Carroll County Board of Supervisors convenes on Wednesday and will canvass the results of the Nov. 4 city/school elections in Carroll County. The meeting begins at 9 a.m. in the supervisors’ meeting room in the lower level of the courthouse. The agenda opens with a report from County Engineer Zac Andersen regarding utility permits and a general roads department update, followed by a similar report from the county’s weed commissioner. The board will then discuss the potential implementation of a beaver bounty in Carroll County Drainage District 102 to help control blockages in the system. Other items on Wednesday’s agenda include a request from the Iowa State Association of Counties (ISAC) for Carroll County to join an amicus brief in support of local control for counties concerning pipelines in a pending case out of Shelby County, a Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 county audit, manure management annual updates, and committee reports. Near the end of the meeting, the board will canvass the Nov. 4 election, which is a lengthy process that involves reviewing vote tallies for each race in all the county’s precincts. Once completed, the results from last week’s election are then official. Wednesday’s meeting is open to the public and will also be live-streamed via the county’s YouTube channel.
