Carroll American Legion Hosts Annual Fundraiser Saturday

Carroll American Legion members will gather outside Wendl’s Weapons and Indoor Range tomorrow (Saturday) as part of their annual fundraiser to support the veteran group. RT Schreck, one of the Legion’s many members, says they generally pick an area of the Legion Hall in need of repairs, and this year they are focusing on the kitchen.

Schreck says that is just a part of their plans. They will also use the funds raised to support local youth programs.

Boys State and Girls State are six-day programs offered each summer by the American Legion and the Legion Auxiliary that give promising young men and women hands-on experience in civics and self-government. Members of the American Legion will be outside Wendl’s Weapons from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Donors won’t even need to step out of their vehicles; simply drive through the lot and roll down the window. Donors will receive a complimentary pass to the indoor shooting range as a thank you for their support. Schreck says the Carroll American Legion has been able to repair its facility and support many local initiatives due to the community’s support and offers thanks on behalf of the Legion.

Again, the Carroll American Legion’s 2025 fundraiser is tomorrow (Saturday), Nov. 8, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. outside Wendl’s Weapons and Indoor Range at 810 U.S. Highway 30 in Carroll.
