The Wall Lake-based Corn Belt Communications has finalized its acquisition of Templeton Telephone Co. and its subsidiary, Templeton Telecommunications Inc. The transaction closed Oct. 31 following required approvals from the Iowa Utilities Commission (IUC) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Financial terms of the all-cash deal were not disclosed. Templeton Telecom’s board of directors and shareholders had previously approved the sale, and subscribers were notified earlier this year. Under the agreement, Corn Belt will acquire all of Templeton Telecom’s subscribers and operating assets, and Templeton Telephone Co. will change its corporate name to TTC Holding Co. Corn Belt General Manager Lee Wuebker says, “Corn Belt and Templeton Telecom share a common commitment—to provide state-of-the-art fiber connectivity and to invest in the communities where we live and work. Our companies share the same vision for the future of our region and the importance of connectivity to driving economic growth in west-central Iowa.” For now, Templeton Telecom customers will continue to receive the same services and follow their existing billing cycles. The company states there will be no immediate changes to customer accounts as a result of the acquisition. Customers with questions can reach out to the Templeton Telephone office at 712-669-3311.
