Movements in the Iowa fuel markets were mixed in this week’s report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, Oct. 29, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in the state was $2.80, down one cent from last week and 11 cents below prices from a year ago. The national average on Wednesday fell three cents to $3.04 per gallon. In retail diesel, Iowa prices rose 12 cents on the week to $3.53 per gallon, compared to $3.39 per gallon this time last year. Local prices remain 15 cents lower than the $3.68 national average. As for renewables at the Des Moines Terminal, E10 was $1.87, Unleaded 87 was $2.06, ULSD#2 was $2.51, ULSD#1 was $2.84, and E70 was $1.93. In heating fuels, propane prices held steady at $1.52 per gallon, home heating oil rose 20 cents to $3.16 per gallon, and natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site jumped 41 cents to $3.85 per MMBtu.
