WIN To End Partnership With UScellular

Western Iowa Networks (WIN) announced Friday it will end its long-standing partnership with UScellular following the company’s recent acquisition by T-Mobile USA Inc. WIN’s relationship with UScellular began in the mid-1990s and will officially conclude Nov. 13. WIN CEO Jeff Roiland says, “We’re extremely proud of the long and successful relationship we’ve had with UScellular and are deeply grateful for the support of our loyal cellular customers over the years. Our team has been honored to serve as a trusted local agent and to help thousands of customers stay connected through ever-changing technology. We cannot thank our customers enough for their loyalty.” According to Roiland, the decision to end the partnership is the result of T-Mobile’s contract putting limitations on WIN’s ability to expand its high-speed fiber internet services. He says, “As a company dedicated to providing fast, reliable fiber broadband throughout the region, we aren’t willing to limit the growth of our fiber services footprint.” Once the contract has officially ended, WIN will transition to focus solely on broadening its fiber network. Current customers can continue working with WIN regarding their UScellular accounts through Nov. 13. Alternatively, they can call 611 on their cellular device or 888-944-9400.
