Portions of Grant Road and Walnut Street will be closed Saturday afternoon while the community’s Trunk ‘r Treat event takes place. Starting at 11 a.m., 9th Street and Walnut Street through Graham Park will be closed as vehicles get set up for the annual Halloween gathering with business and organizations handing out treats to kids in costumes. Then at 1 p.m., Grant Road from E 7th Street to the parking entrance between DMACC and the Carroll Athletic Stadium will be closed for the increase in pedestrian traffic of those participating in Trunk ‘r Treat. Both roads are expected to be opened after the event concludes around 6 p.m. Motorist are asked to plan ahead and to use alternate routes throughout the afternoon Saturday.
