Iowa Fuel Report: Oct. 22, 2025

After seeing repeats of decreasing prices at the pumps, Iowans can now plan to spend a little more according to this week’s fuel report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, Oct. 22, a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline across the state rose seven cents, averaging $2.81. This week’s average is 15 cents lower than prices that were reported this same time last year. Iowa still remains below the $3.07 national average by 26 cents. Retail diesel prices continue to trend down, falling three cents this week to a state average of $3.41 per gallon. Diesel prices reported in 2024 were around $3.44. Iowa diesel prices are sitting 22 cents lower than the national average of $3.63 per gallon. As for renewables at the Des Moines Terminal, E10 was $1.81, Unleaded 87 priced at $2.00, ULSD #2 was $2.33, ULSD #1 at $2.66, and E-70 was priced at $1.92 per gallon. Home heating oil averaged $2.96 and propane prices reported at $1.52 per gallon. Natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site increased 45 cents to $3.44 per MMBtu.
