The Lake View City Council approved the hiring of Jalonna Ehler (jay-lona I-ler) as the city administrator during the council meeting last (Monday) night. Ehler is currently serving as one of the deputy auditors for Sac County and will take over the administrative position next month. The city council received 33 applicants after a vacancy was created earlier this year by Theresa Pudenz who accepted a job with the City of Cherokee. Two interim administrators took over the role over the past seven months, Jeff Kruse in April and John Gibson in June after Kruse resigned. The interview process began earlier this month with the last interviews held on Oct. 13, and an offer extended to Ehler that same day. Ehler’s official first day will be on Nov. 17.
