Kuemper Catholic Launches $28.5 Million uKnighted Capital Campaign For Campus Expansion

The Kuemper Catholic School System has launched a $28.5 million capital campaign to fund a major addition to its elementary campus. Kuemper President John Steffes says the “uKnighted: Building a Future in Faith” project has been years in the making and is split into four main project areas. The first and largest piece is a $17.3 million academic addition and chapel, which will incorporate 26 new classrooms at the campus.

Steffes says the next largest portion of the proposed expansions is $5.5 million in renovations to the current Holy Spirit Elementary School.

An estimated $4.4 million competition gymnasium, locker rooms, and music room are another part of the designs.

The final piece is a $1.3 million skywalk to connect the high school and St. Angela Center to the new addition near Holy Spirit.

Steffes says this is the most significant work done at the campus since the high school was built back in 1954, and it is a very exciting time for the Kuemper family. He adds that construction could begin as soon as June 2026 if the capital campaign gets off to a good start. Assuming they break ground next year, the addition could be completed as soon as the 2028-2029 school year. The campaign is now active, and details on how to donate or view renderings are available online at Kuemper.org/uknighted.
