The 100 People Who Care Sac County awarded their October donation to the Sac County Area Quilters for their Quilts of Valor project. The volunteer quilters spend hours donating time and materials to make patriotic quilts which then are awarded to veterans and service members with a ceremony, thanking those individuals for their service and sacrifices. A national organization, the Quilts of Valor has awarded over 400,000 veterans and service members nationwide for over 20 years, with the Sac County Area Quilters contributing to hundreds of veterans throughout Sac and surrounding counties. The check was presented on Sunday, Oct. 12, with the next 100 People Who Care Sac County meeting being held on Jan. 11 at the Early United Methodist Church starting at 4 p.m., all are welcome to join in participating.
