LVCC Honors Businesses, Volunteers And More During Lake Fest

The Lake View Community Club (LVCC) recognized nine individuals, families or businesses with awards celebrating their success last month at the annual Lake Fest. The awards are granted based on community involvement and progress made that supports the economic development and goals of the City of Lake View. Six different awards are presented, which include New Business, Volunteer and Event of the Year, along with Capital Improvement, Downtown Momentum, and Community Enrichment awards. For 2025, New Business of the Year went to Soak’d, for offering “a unique atmosphere and experience by providing its own ‘slice’ of heaven, bringing people together..”. New Event of the Year when to Fishing with the Five-O, bringing 65 kids from Lake View to the city’s police department, “fostering a community relationship and promoting the outdoor lifestyle that makes Lake View special.” A family was awarded the Community Enrichment award: “Scott and Nacy Onstot and Emily and Mike Busch and family, for offering support and dedication for decades to several different organizations and initiatives”, including LVCC events, Stone Pier Summer Concert series, and with anything else that needs help. The 2025 Volunteer of the Year award went to Bill and Sue Zimmerman, for “their countless hours and generous commitment to ensuring that Lake View is a community that continues to grow.” The next award is the Capital Improvement that was awarded to The Corral and The Drunken Nickel Redemption and Liquor Store, recognizing the “rebuilding and remodeling” that is done annually marking “the positive improvements that benefit our entire community.” The last award went to The Oasis and The Pelican Pub for 2025 Downtown Momentum, attracting visitors to Lake View and boosting the community’s economic development. The LVCC staff continue to thank everyone who makes Lake View a great place to live, work, and play.
