The Carroll Lions Club is back in Graham Park tomorrow (Friday) for its annual soup day fundraiser. Club President Sondra Rierson says she and the Lions Club’s members will be doling out soup on Friday, Oct. 17, in the Graham Park Shelter House.
The tally of eaters typically climbs into the hundreds by the time they stop serving at 7 p.m. The menu includes all-you-can-eat chili, cheesy potato, and chicken noodle soup. Each meal includes a ham sandwich, a drink, and dessert. Meals for adults are $13, and kids 10 and under eat for $8. Many in the community have made the Lions Club Soup Day a part of their fall traditions, and Rierson thanks each person who makes a point to stop by every year.
The money raised during the soup day fundraiser stays right here in Carroll and supports a variety of local initiatives. Recent examples include scholarships for students at Carroll and Kuemper Catholic, new playground equipment for local parks, and financial assistance for eyeglasses and hearing aids, among others. Rierson says those efforts rely on their volunteer membership, and they are always looking for new people to add to their roster.
Stop by and support the Carroll Lions Club 2025 Soup Day Fundraiser, running from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Graham Park Shelter house tomorrow (Friday).
