Over 30 teams competed in today’s (Wednesday) Pack the Pantry event sponsored by C3 (Christ, Community, Celebration) of Manning, The Manning Rotary and IKM-Manning National Honor Society. Each team consisted of three members, who were given five minutes to shop at Fareway in Carroll, getting as close as they could to $250 worth of groceries and other items without going over to be declared the winner. Jeremy and Gina Carroll Family were just shy of the goal by 39 cents, with AGP coming in second at 43 cents short and Bryce Irlbeck Family third falling just $1.27 below the limit. All teams, regardless of winning, then purchased items in their carts to be donated to the Manning Food Pantry which helps families in need at the IKM-Manning School District. A trailer full containing $11,282.70 worth of groceries will now be available on the shelves. Organizers wish to thank each team who stepped up to participate, sponsors who donated, and Fareway staff who continue to support the annual fundraising fun and success year after year.
