Dr. Charles Svensson, retired OB-GYN in the community, is looking to bring his knowledge to the Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education with your vote this upcoming election. Svensson has worked for his private practice for over 30 years before retiring in July of last year. While not originally from Carroll, Svensson says his family has made Iowa their home 15 years ago and continue to remain busy, even in retirement.
Svensson says his grandsons played a huge part in his decision to run, as serving on the board would help guide their future education with CCSD. However, that is not the only reason.
Svensson says his decision to run for school board wasn’t long thought about, instead he decided to jump right into action and discover what the backbone of the district says needs to be changed.
With his priorities focusing on the staff and to make sure the district remains responsible with decision making, Svensson says he hopes all Carroll voters to consider him to be elected for the CCSD Board of Education.
Svensson is looking to secure one of the two open seats, running against four other candidates: Angela Owen, Kristen Lundstrom, Hunter Harmening and Jeff Cullen. Carroll Broadcasting will bring you more from the other individuals running in this year’s elections in upcoming newscasts.
