The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education met for a monthly work session Monday evening to review the data released by the state for this year’s school performance rating. Superintendent Dr. Casey Berlau began by giving some background information on the district, current demographics, how points are earned and the scores calculated to receive the designation status. CCSD earned above the 60 percent threshold of all possible points at each school building, which would give them a commendable rating. However, due to the target status that reflects on students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), which makes up 14.8 percent of all students across the district, the rating category was dropped to an acceptable category. Discussion was held with board members and administration on the work that is currently being done and what the support from the state looks like. Carroll Broadcasting will bring you more from the CCSD Board of Education work session in upcoming newscasts.
