Earlier this week, Western Iowa Networks (WIN) presented the Breda Recreation League with a $3,000 Ripple Effect grant through its partner, Aureon, to help fund a major lighting upgrade at the Breda Ballpark. The fundraising effort is years in the making and involves removing the park’s original lights and poles to install 10 new poles with brighter and more efficient lighting systems. The improvements will enhance visibility on both the large and small diamonds and brighten the grounds for community events, such as Breda’s annual Fourth of July celebration. The Breda Little League, on average, serves about 270 children each year, and the youth baseball and softball are a central part of the community’s summertime atmosphere. WIN CEO Jeff Roiland says, “Western Iowa Networks is proud to support the Breda Recreation League through the Ripple Effect grant. Investing in community projects like this helps ensure that our youth and families have access to safe, high-quality facilities where memories can be made for years to come.” This week’s donation is in addition to a $25,000 donation to the Breda Rec Board earlier this spring. The $345,000 project, led by D/R Electric, is scheduled for completion by the end of October, and only about $40,000 in fundraising remains. A link to donate and help the project reach its fundraising goal is included below.
