A Badger man was taken into custody earlier in September on alleged kidnapping charges. According to Calhoun County District Court records, 49-year-old Anthony Edwin Bacon allegedly met with the victim on Sept. 8 in the parking lot of a convenience store and got her into his truck, locking the doors and leaving the scene. It was reported that Bacon then took the victim to a nearby gravel road, forced her to undress, and sexually assaulted her. Bacon also allegedly took a photo of the act, and sent it out to multiple people via text message. Bacon was booked into the Carroll County Jail, but has since been released. He has waived his preliminary hearing and has pled not guilty to first-degree kidnapping, a class A felony. If convicted, a class A felony has a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. Bacon is also facing two counts of violation of a protective order out of Sac and Humboldt County
