The Stewart Memorial Auxiliary is bringing comfort to children receiving ear, nose, and throat services by donating stuffed animals generously provided by hospital staff and community members. Currently, 20 stuffed animals have already been purchased with funds raised from fresh garden produce donated to the effort and sold for freewill donations at the Heart Strings Gift Shoppe. The Auxiliary plans to provide an additional 40 stuffed animals following its Pumpkin Decorating and Painting Contest Fundraiser at the Lake City Clinic later this month. Pumpkins will be displayed in the clinic rotunda from October 27 to October 31, with community members invited to vote for their favorite designs. Votes cost one dollar each, and all proceeds will be used to purchase additional stuffed animals for young patients.
