The Glidden-Ralston Community School District earned “commendable” ratings from state education officials in its 2025 Iowa School Performance Profile. Districtwide, Wildcat students performed better than state averages in nearly every tracked metric. For mathematics, 73.14 percent of students were grade-level proficient, compared to the 70.93 percent average for Iowa students in general. Glidden-Ralston’s English language arts proficiency of 77.78 percent surpassed the state average by more than four percentage points. However, Glidden-Ralston students lagged behind in science proficiency, scoring 55.26 percent compared to the state’s average of 67.14 percent. The Wildcats performed exceedingly well in graduation rates, achieving a 100 percent four-year rate, compared to the state’s 88.27 percent, and a 95.24 percent five-year rate, compared to the state’s 89.88 percent. Chronic absenteeism for Glidden-Ralston, 13.21 percent, was over two points lower than the 15.81 percent Iowa average. The commendable ratings for the elementary and junior-senior high school mean Glidden-Ralston will not be subject to additional monitoring from state education officials, as goals are being met.
