Crawford County Memorial Hospital Launches Mental Health Program For Seniors

CCMH

Crawford County Memorial Hospital (CCMH) is introducing a new program to support the mental health needs of older adults. The program is based on a partnership with Senior Life Solutions and will operate out of the hospital’s Outpatient Services Building. The program is geared toward individuals 65 years old and older who are experiencing depression, anxiety, or other challenges linked to aging. Services include group and individual therapy, psychiatric evaluation, and medication management. Program Director Kellie Gee says, “The Senior Life Solutions program provides our community with an evidence- and outcomes-based treatment proven to significantly improve the mental health of older adults. Many people over the age of 60 believe depression is just a part of getting old. It’s not. This is a program that can help you live a happier, healthier life.” Seniors experiencing anxiety, changes in appetite, difficulty sleeping, loss of energy, feelings of sadness, or who have recently experienced the loss of a loved one may benefit from participation in the program. Following the individual assessment, patients will meet up to three times per week in a group environment. Patients can be referred by healthcare professionals, family, friends, or themselves.
