Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Administration releases statement regarding rumor and allegation of a student in possession of a firearm at the football game Friday night. In an email to parents, Superintendent Dr. Casey Berlau says that students informed an administrator that a student in attendance to the game had a gun. The Carroll Police Department and Carroll County Sheriff’s Office investigated into the rumor to discover the threat was not credible and no firearm was on the premises. The investigation discovered that a group of students got into an disagreement and the rumor started up from that. Berlau says that all students involved will be followed up with about the incident, and he wishes to thank the students that came forward regardless of the situation and the quick response from local law enforcement to determine the safety of all those engaged in the football game. Berlau says anyone is additional questions is to discuss the matter further with their child’s respective building’s administrative team.
