Tomorrow (Saturday), join the Lake View Community Club celebrate Lake View with Lake Fest, honoring individuals who step up and continue to be a hero for the town. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Speaker Park Shelter House, there will be an event to recognize all the successes and the growth that Lake View exhibits year after year. Lake View Community Club Event Coordinator Emily Meyer says what started out as Progress as Promised hosted by the city has been switched up to make it a more family-friendly occasion.
A free meal will be provided of pork burgers, hot dogs, chips, cookies and a beverage, a change from the popular chili cook off that used to be held. Meyer says prior to the meal the awards will be given to those individuals who continue to be staples to the community.
Meyer says that the club invited the emergency services and city workers to bring their equipment down to give attendees a close up look at some pretty cool machines.
Meyer says this is not a one person show, and is super thankful for all the volunteers that she knows she can count on to help out at anytime of the year, and is excited to be honoring all of them tomorrow (Saturday). Again, Meyer and the Lake View Community Club welcome everyone to come enjoy the beautiful weather forecasted for this weekend to celebrate Lake View with the annual Lake Fest this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Speaker Park.
