Authorities say a farmer was killed Wednesday after becoming trapped in an auger. According to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement, the Paton and Grand Junction Fire Departments, and Greene County Emergency Medical Services were dispatched to the 400 block of R Avenue after a caller reported a 78-year-old male had gotten pulled into an auger. The victim was transported to Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson, where he was pronounced deceased.
