CR-B High School Recieves Target Status For Second Year, Elementary A “Commendable” Rating During 2025 School Performance Report

Coon Rapids-Bayard (CRB) Community School District shows proficiency above state level in all subjects, but high school receives targeted designation for second year in this year’s Performance Report from the Iowa Department Of Education. The Crusaders scored above the 67.14 percent state average proficiency rate for science at 72.04, 5.14 percentage points higher than the average in math at 76.07 percent, and 78.21 percent in English language arts, following suit above the 73.56 percent reported across Iowa. CR-B scored just below the 88.27 average for four-year graduation rate at 88 percent, but 6.27 percentage points higher than the state for the five-year graduation rate at 96.15 percent. Ratings the district is lacking on include chronic absenteeism, with 21.99 percent of students missing over ten percent of days while enrolled, 6.18 points higher than the 15.81 average seen across Iowa and post-secondary readiness for high schoolers taking college credit courses at 11.7 points below the state at 58.33. Worked based learning opportunities is excelling however, with 95.65 percent of Crusaders participating in those experiences, over 50 points higher than the rest of Iowa that records an average of 45 percent. The district’s attendance center, which services 6-12th grade students received an “acceptable” rating, with a targeted status meaning state will be offering additional resources and monitoring, specifically for students with disabilities on Individualized Education Programs (IEP). CR-B’s Elementary School received a “commendable” rating and will not be requiring any additional assistance.
