The East Sac County (ESC) Community School District has earned a commendable rating for both buildings through the Iowa Department of Education’s academic performance report, marking significant progress and growth over the past few years. This is the first time since at least 2017 that the district has earned this designation across the board, meaning no additional assistance is required by the state. Measured by the Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP), ESC students were proficient in every category, english-language arts, science, and math, at 75.66, 75.42 and 75.26 percent respectively. The Raiders also scored above the statewide average for both proficiency and growth in those same subjects. The district scored 9.13 percentage points higher than the average for schools across Iowa for the 4-year graduation rate at 97.4 percent. Chronic absenteeism was recorded below the Iowa average of 15.81 percent, with ESC reporting 8.73 percent of students who missed at least ten percent of days while enrolled. The only score the district is lacking behind the state average would be for post-secondary readiness for work-based learning and college credits at 17.78 and 64.18 percent respectively.
