Region XII Council of Governments in cooperation with the City of Lake City will be inspecting properties ensuring compliance of city ordinances starting this week. The inspections are being used as a proactive effort to promote maintenance of residences in the community and that local regulations are being followed. Issues in question include: junk and debris in yards, overgrown vegetation, vehicles without proper registration or non-operating, plus more. If a report comes back of a violation, property owners will be contacted and will be asked to correct the issue to avoid further action.
