Three of the four Carroll Community School District’s (CCSD’s) buildings received a targeted designation with all gaining an “acceptable” rating through the Iowa Department of Education’s school performance reviews. The district as a whole is above the state’s average for proficiently in mathematics and English-language-arts, 73.1 and 74.62 percent respectively. CCSD students still fall below the average for proficient in science, at 61.34 percent. Growth in mathematics and English language arts also reported above the state average, post-secondary readiness for college credit, as well as for chronic absenteeism, with 17.11 percent of students reported to miss at least ten percent of the school year. All buildings but Fairview Elementary received a targeted status, meaning the district is recommended for additional support, specifically with students on Individualized Education Plans (IEPS) with disabilities. This marks the second year of the Carroll High School being deemed a targeted designation, but the first for Adams Elementary and the middle school. The district does report a 97.26 percent four-year graduation rate among students enrolled at CCSD. A link to review this data in its entirety can be found included below.
