A Lanesboro man was taken into custody last week for allegedly taking over $30,000 from an individual’s bank account without permission. According to Carroll County District Court records, 45-year-old Jared Lee Williams allegedly deprived the victim of approximately $33,000 from October 2022 and May 2025, withdrawing money at a bank in Carroll around 220 times over the three-year span. Williams remain in custody at the Carroll County Jail on a $35,000 bond. He is facing charges on a class B felony, ongoing criminal conduct and class C felony, first-degree theft. If convicted, Williams can face a maximum sentence of up to 35 years in prison and $13,660 in fines, not including any potential victim restitution.
