CCSD Board Of Education Approves Move To Hawkeye Ten Conference And More During Monday Night’s Meeting

The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education approved the resolution for Hawkeye Ten Conference Invite, plus more during Monday night’s meeting. CCSD Administration recommended the acceptance of the invite, joining in the year of 2027-28, with the potential of the next school year depending on bylaws and regulations. The district received 247 responses for a survey that was sent out to students, coaches, and parents, with 70 percent wanting to move into the Hawkeye Ten Conference. Many factors were taken into consideration when deciding on the move, with level of competition and distance traveling to events the top two, next was scheduling, followed by rivalries. The board also appointed two new students to serve as this year’s student board members, annual agreements with the city, Kuemper Catholic, DMACC, Iowa Lakes and TAP. Science kits for third grade were also approved for $6,726. A$49,679 quote for furniture at the new Transportation Facility was delayed until several questions from school officials were answered. Board members also discussed potential project to the soccer field parking lot, facility use policy, district use of social media and educational support personnel additional state funds.
